Within this landscape, the Sivas region emerges as a strategically vital mining hub, rich in high-grade chromite deposits and home to longstanding mineral operations. YeÅŸiltepe Madencilik’s presence in Sivas DivriÄŸi not only capitalizes on this geological advantage but also reinforces Turkey’s position in the international chromite value chain through responsible and efficient mining practices.
Distribution of Chromite Mines in Eastern Turkey
At our Divriği site, Yeşiltepe Madencilik processes chromite ore with a Cr₂O₃ grade ranging between 8% and 15%, extracted from high-potential deposits confirmed through extensive test studies.

The ore is first subjected to primary crushing, reducing the material to suitable sizes for further treatment. It is then processed through wet separation techniques, where water-based methods such as spiral concentrators and shaking tables are used to separate heavier chromite particles from lighter gangue minerals.​ This pre-concentrated material is fed into our enrichment facility, where the ore undergoes advanced beneficiation processes. As a result, the chromite is upgraded to a concentrate grade of approximately 48% Cr₂O₃, making it suitable for metallurgical applications, including stainless steel and ferrochrome production.
